SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Phil Walter, of McClure, drove by Colby Womer, of Mt. Pleasant Mills, on a lap 22 restart and went on to post his first victory of the season in Saturday night’s 25-lap 358 sprint car feature at Selinsgrove Speedway.
Walter, driving the Paul Stine Chevrolet/Ritter Feeds No. 5, collected $1,500 for his sixth career victory at the track and became the third different sprint car winner in as many races this season.
Phil picked off the competition one by one throughout the event before reaching the third spot, and within striking distance of the front runners. As the race wound down, Phil and his brother Mike put on a 2 lap thrill show for the fans before Phil grabbed second for good. Two laps later, he ran down fellow racer and friend, Colby Womer, and made the race winning pass in rare form, on the low side. R&W Motorsports look to keep the winning momentum next week at the big half mile of Selinsgrove Speedway.

Once again this season, Phil will be competing regularly every Saturday night at Selinsgrove Speedway in 2009 trying to win as many races as he can, and try and capture his first ever Sprint Car Track Title. Hopefully we can build on our only win in the Sprint car at Selinsgrove in 2008, to have a successful 2009 season.
Win or lose, we have a great bunch of guys, some fantastic sponsors, and we look forward to having alot of fun again in 2009. I would like to thank you, the fans for your support of myself and Phil II in our racing careers. See you at the races and thanks again for being great fans.
If you have a Friday evening free, check out the racing at SRP. It's the foundation and the future of motorsports and a great way to spend time with your kids.
Below are two links leading to the websites of two organizations that me and my family support to the fullest. Please take the time to visit both meaningful organizations and help support them both. See ya at the races, Phil & Phil II
